Idli with Coconut Chutney

Idli


Ingredients

  • 3 cups parboiled rice

  • 1 cup urad daal

  • 1 cup poha

Preparation Instructions

  • Soak rice and daal separately for at least 4 hours

  • Soak Poha only for 10 minutes

  • Grind to pasty consistency

  • Keep in large dish in oven with light on

  • Batter should rise in 6-8 hours

  • Pour into idli plates and steam cook for 12 minutes


Coconut Chutney


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut

  • 3-4 chilies

  • 1/4 cup cilantros chopped

  • 1/2 cup roasted peanuts

  • Salt to taste

  • 2 tbsp yogurt

Preparation Instructions

  • Grind together all ingredients and serve with idlis
